ASM Foods produces jam and chocolate for the food industry, dairy factories, the ice-cream industry, bakeries and the confectionary industry. The company is a part of the international corporate group Barry Callebaut and has 150 employees. ASM Foods has been a customer to AGA for more than fifteen years. During these years, AGA has at several occasions assisted ASM Foods in its product development process by inviting the company to AGA’s test lab in Helsingborg.
The test lab in Helsingborg is one of AGA/Lindes seven test labs globally, and the only facility of its kind in Sweden. In the lab, customers can test different freezing solutions to find the optimal solution for each product. As ASM Foods’ product range has been expanded with new products, the company has paid several visits to the test lab in Helsingborg.
Visiting the test lab has allowed us to try different freezing solutions for new product ideas. After concluding the tests, we’ve brought the output from the sessions back home for further evaluation which has allowed us to successfully move on to the next part of the product development process, says Roger Alsäter, CEO of ASM Foods.
Having the opportunity to test different freezing solutions in a fully equipped lab together with AGA’s expert team has been of great value to ASM Foods, a company which always strives to develop its product range.
Continuous improvement is a prerequisite for us. AGA’s knowledge in in cryonic refrigerating and freezing techniques coupled with our learning experiences in the lab have enabled us to evaluate our product ideas and come up with better solutions, says Alsäter.
As of now, ASM Foods has no visits to the test lab coming up on its agenda. But ASM Foods know where to turn the next time a new product idea needs to be thoroughly tested.
